Floyd Hallum
March 9, 1921 - May 7, 2012

Floyd "Lloyd" Hallum, 91, of Michigan City passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. at Fraciscan Saint Anthony Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel. Entombment will follow in Chapel of the Chimes Mausoleum. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home and on Thursday from 11:00 - 12 Noon at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel.

Floyd was born March 9, 1921 in Wurster, Ark.

On December 24 2000 in South Bend, IN he married Margaret Peek Hallum who is surviving in Michigan City.

Also surviving is one son: John (Karen) Hallum of Bolingbrook, IL; three step-daughters: Thelma (Richard) McIntosh of LaPOrte; Bridget (Phillip) Smith and Barbara (Ronald) Frasure both of Michigan City; three-step-sons: T.L. (Lori) Shields and William Peek both of Michigan City and Mark (Deana) Shields of Batesville, MS; three grandchildren: Cathleen, Melissa and Christopher Hallum; many step-grandchildren; one sister: Faye Phillips of Jacksonville, Ark and one brother: Paul (Martha Jan) Hallum of Greensbriar, Ark.

Preceding him in death is one step-daughter: Margaret Ann Lane; one step-grandson: Christopher Smith; and seven brothers and sisters.

Floyd was a retired Ironworker from Local #395.

He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and loved to travel.
