Jon Lilley, 51, of Michigan City, IN passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 in Michigan City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Cremation will take place after mass with burial at a later date in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:00 10:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church.
Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Jon was born April 21, 1965 in Michigan City, IN to Robert and Elaine (Karwick) Lilley who are surviving in Michigan City.
Also surviving is one son, Jonathon Lilley of Michigan City; two sisters, Dawn (Dennis) Sobieski and Gale (Michael) Gonder both of Michigan City; one brother, Todd (Karla) Lilley of Las Vegas, NV; ten nieces and nephews, Kristen (Kenneth) Fussner, Tyler Gonder, Rachel Gonder, Ashley Lilley, Alexandra Lilley, Alicia Lilley, Vivienne Lilley, Santiago Lilley, Nolan Lilley, Amanda (Anthony) Foley; six great nieces and nephews, Madilyn Fussner, Genevieve Fussner, Ashtyn Wregglesworth, Damari Lilley, Anthony Foley, and Andrew Foley.
Jon is preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Lilley; grandparents, Casimer and Dorothy (Kniola) Karwick and Thomas and Francis (Gardner) Lilley.
Jon retired from the Michigan City area schools where he worked as a maintenance man.
He was a member of Queen of All Saints Church, was an avid fisherman in the winter and summer, loved to discover new items with his metal detector, and tended to his vegetable garden in the summer.
