William Wainman
August 15, 1939 - August 8, 2016
William Wainman, 76, of West Lafayette, Indiana formerly of Mihcigan City, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at IU Health Center in Lafayette, Indiana.
Per his wishes cremation will take place with no viewing or services.
Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
William was born August 15, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to the late William and Mary C. (Kelly) Wainman.
Surviving is one daughter, Faith (AK) Hammoud of Michigan City; one son, Thomas Wainman of Valparaiso, Indiana; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five brothers, Paul, Michael, Thomas, Robert and John; and three sisters; Dorothy Willis, Patricia McMullen and Mary Helen Wainman and many nieces and nephews.
William is preceded in death by one son, William Wainman Jr., and one sister, Theresa Yugo.
William retired from the accounting department at Inland Steel after over 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge #432, Michigan City Fish and Game Club and the American Post in Birmingham, Alabama. He loved to hunt and fish and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him.
