Jonathan Fletcher
March 21, 1984 - June 4, 2026

Jonathan Fletcher passes at 42

Some lives leave an imprint far greater than their length would suggest.

That was our Jonny: A devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

Jonathan "Jonny" Fletcher, 42, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Born on March 21, 1984, Jonny sojourned too briefly with us but he filled his life—and ours—with love, laughter, humor, and an unwavering devotion to those fortunate enough to know and love him.

Jonny is survived by his loving wife, Emily; and his son, Wyatt. He was the cherished son of Ann and Tom Fletcher; beloved brother of Michelle and Leilan McNally and Brian and Aukse Fletcher; and the devoted, fun-loving uncle of Anna, Noah, Elijah, Clara, Megan, and Andrew. Family was at the center of Jonny's life, and he took immense pride and joy in every role he held, especially that of Dad.

There are countless ways to describe Jonny: Husband, father, son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, confidant, jokester, companion, creator of unforgettable memories, and the guy everyone loved to be around. He knew all of the songs and all of the trivia and all the trivia about all of the songs. There wasn’t a random fact that Jonny didn’t know or couldn’t have a conversation with you about. He was the person everyone wanted to be around. If Jonny was there—a good time was to be had by all. He made sure of it. And he made sure he spoke with you and once that happened you had no choice but to have a laugh and a smile. You felt better after spending time with him. He brought that to all of our lives. To know him was to be loved by him. He brought immeasurable light, laughter, and love to every life he touched. He was the kindest soul. Our buddy. Our friend. Our guy.

To have had Jonny in your life meant to have endless laughter. We will remember that laugh the most. The ease with which he shared it with all. The warmth of his smile. The way it could make you feel better in an instant. Jonny was a gem. A true one-of-a-kind guy who if you had the pleasure to know, you could count yourself lucky. Jonny was deeply loved and will be forever missed. Everyone runs to the person who means the most to them and so many of us ran to be near Jonny. He was that guy. He will always be that guy. We love you endlessly, Jonny. Life will not be the same without you—how could it?

We ask that you honor Jonny's beautiful life by doing the things he loved—and that made us all love him. Laugh until you think you'll burst. Tell jokes—good ones, bad ones, and wonderfully obscure ones. Help others. Be kind to animals. Raise a glass in his honor. Watch SNL and share Muppets memes. Cheer on the Cubbies. Share random facts. Enjoy good music and put together an incredible playlist and share it. Be loyal. Spread your kindness generously. Most of all, be an extraordinary human—father, husband, son, brother, and friend—just like our Jonny.

A Mass celebrating Jonny's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Mary the Immaculate Conception, 411 W. 10th St., Michigan City, Ind.
