Orrin Stephen Glidden II
June 3, 1927 - November 19, 2010
Orrin Stephen "Steve" Glidden II, 82, of Michigan City passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes at his home on Friday, November 19, 2010.
Cremation will take place. There will be no viewing. Private family burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, MI
Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Steve was born June 3, 1937 in Michigan City to the late Chester T. and Alrena (Warner) Glidden.
On February 5, 1949 in Michigan City he married Jacqueline Ruth (Thompson) Glidden who is surviving in Michigan City.
Also surviving are four children: Orrin Stephen Glidden III of Michigan City; Stephanie (Dale) Cheetham of Indianapolis, IN; Timothy (Cathy) Glidden of Michigan City and Kim (Michelle) Glidden of Michigan City; five grandchildren: Ryan Cheetham, Andrew Cheetham, Mandy (Chris) Buresh, Scott Glidden and Stacy Glidden; three great-grandchildren: Bryce Cheetham, Collin Cheetham and Rachel Buresh; and one brother Thomas Glidden of Lafayette, CA; two nieces: Jennifer (Dr. Sam) West and Suzanne Hardesty.
Preceding him in death is one sister Barbara Johnson.
Steve was a retired insurance agent with General Insurance Services for many years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a Navy Veteran.
Memorials may be made to the Old Lighthouse Museum or Open Door Clinic.
